I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:5
Children offer the world a glimpse of heaven and child-likeness shows us the way into His presence. I love to study children and to ponder on what He wishes me to emulate in them.
Children:
trust, hope, dream, forgive, forget, wonder, laugh a lot, cry easily, are transparent, live in vulnerability, heal quickly, imagine vividly, learn constantly, see beauty everywhere, look closely . . . . . and so much more.
My life calling is inextricably intertwined with children . . . .
Especially with these two: my wise and beautiful firstborn Naomi and my tender warrior, Quinn.
In faith, we feel sure we will adopt two more and perhaps add a fifth either biologically or through adoption.
I am called to know children, to hear their hearts, to speak truth to them, and to share with the world the high honor we are called to give them. This I know without a doubt.
Children are smaller humans, worthy of the same dignity, respect and conversation as other humans. They are also younger, weaker and more vulnerable and therefore call out the best in us as their protectors, guides and safe-companions. Children offer us the choice to learn from their unimaginable beauty and wonder and to reach out with our care and compassion to safeguard all they bring and to shepherd them into adulthood intact.
Wouldn’t it be amazing to see the world full of adults who still wonder, are vulnerable, learn constantly, see beauty everywhere . . . . we can be a part of this dream coming true.
We gratefully choose to attachment parent from birth and beyond, and use only gentle discipleing as a mean of guiding our children into the paths He chose for them before we were ever born. Through our commitment to avoid violence and to teach without fear or intimidation we have learned so much more about ourselves, self-control, perseverance and the hearts of our children. We have healed as we have committed ourselves to raising them with honor. It can be done and it is worth it.

Quinn and Me are cute together in this picture.Love you
